Padley Gorge - Peak District Walk
Monday 24th March 2014
Picked for its lack of distance and gentle descent this walk also had the advantage of taking me into Padley Gorge, an area of the Peak District I have somehow managed to never walk.

The route to Padley Gorge is well signed from Longshaw Estate.
I spent a while here experimenting with shutter speeds.
Burbage Brook, a popular picnic spot in the summer.
Another route where it is always worth stopping to take a look backwards.
Walking through Padley Gorge was delightful.
If you know where to look there are plenty of millstones to be found close to Padley Gorge.
Totley Tunnel, the second longest railway tunnel in the UK.
As I leave the woods the views open up to include Offerton Moor.
Today's lunchtime view took in Win Hill and Bamford Edge.
One of the Companion Stones as I return along a track in Longshaw Estate.
As I head back towards Longshaw Lodge Higger Tor comes into view.
